On Saturday, August 28th, the Westminster Middle School Green Volleyball Team played in a day-long tournament against other schools. After a long day filled with many matches, the Green Team reigned victoriously.

This is not the end of their success; the Middle School team has won many matches against other schools.

“The Green Squad is very talented and experienced,” says Head Coach Catherine Zidow. “They have lots of success on the scoreboard, and on and off the court.”

Although not undefeated, the Green Team has won the majority of the matches they have played.

In one case against the team from North Cobb, the team was defeated, only to make a comeback later. “They were really good and we were tired after a long tournament,” says defensive specialist Valentina Goss, “We won when we played them a second time.”

The 14 girls on the team have been amazingly flexible and willing to try new positions than they normally play. Most of the girls on the team also play on club teams outside of school and are playing different positions.

On top of this, the team works well together and has great communication.

“Really well, the team has bonded and are winning a lot,” says Olivia Weber an outside hitter when asked about the team. “As an individual player I’ve been improving and really working for a good team.”

Being on the team has been an awesome experience for everyone. “It’s fun having all of my friends on the team”, says setter Ashley Adams.

The team has had an amazing season so far and we wish them the best of luck in their matches to come.
